St. John Neumann Catholic Church has many ways to get involved and serve in Faith Formation, from preschool to high school and those in between.
Many hands make light work. Our volunteers are fully equipped to lead their groups. St. John Neumann staff provides materials and actively walk with you throughout your ministry as you accompany your group.

Enjoy spending time with children in preschool and/or kindergarten and would like to share the love of Jesus with our youngest parishioners? Sunday School is looking for adults and high school students. Middle school students are encouraged to help out with an adult or older sibling. Sunday School catechists teach on a rotating basis with another team.

Includes Family Formation helpers, First Sacraments helpers, and Family Events Core Team
Role and description:
Materials prep team – take home materials to prep or come into the resource room to help
Family Formation Presenter – lead a talk/activity to a large group session with outline provided
*First Sacraments Catechist – teach monthly sacramental prep classes to 2nd – 4th grade children
*First Sacraments Assistant Catechist – assist with a class, open to both youth and adults who have received Confirmation
*First Sacraments Substitute Catechist – be available teach or assist with a class
Family Events Core Team – serve at a few events/year: Family BBQ, Family Fall Fest, Pizza & Bingo, Family Summer Celebration, other marriage/community life events.
*Required to complete Safe Environment E3 requirements (VIRTUS).

The Archdiocese requires all volunteers who have regular or unsupervised interaction with minors and/or vulnerable adults to complete the Essential 3 (E3, E-3) before volunteering. All components are completed online through VIRTUS. Re-credentialing is required every three years.

All teens/minors under the age of 18 working with youth and/or vulnerable adults must complete a Ministry Partner Application form, Code of Conduct for Youth, provide two (2) student character references from contacts that are not your parents, legal guardian, or relatives, and watch the two (2) videos below. After watching the two (2) videos, please complete this form. It must also be signed digitally by a Parent/Legal Guardian.
