The process of preparing children and youth ages 7-17 to enter the Catholic Church is the "Order of Christian Initiation of Children." This process includes teaching on the Catholic faith and worship, as well as preparation for the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. This program is for children/youth seeking Baptism, those baptized in another Christian tradition who desire to become Catholic, and youth in 6th-12th grade seeking First Communion. Catechists partner with families to lead them in classes usually on a weekly basis, but scheduled flexibly to fit the needs of the child's formation. Each class includes prayer, discussion, activities, and teaching from the curriculum 'Faith Fusion' and the Baltimore Catechism.
Contact Claire Dzurik for all children ages 7-17 (see below) or use this form: Reception into the Catholic Church and/or Catching Up on Sacraments.
** Under age 7, please contact [email protected] for baptism information. You will prepare to have your child baptism, and Eucharist and Confirmation will be received at the typical ages.
