Facilitator for Teen RCIA
Contribution to Parish Mission Statement
Helps to bring teens and their parents into full communion with the Church.
Description
This process is based on the RCIA. It is adapted for teens. The groups tend to be small. The teens meet in the Youth Room. Some knowledge of the RCIA would be helpful.
Responsibilities 
  • To catechize (teach) the group of teens from ages 12-16.
  • To be present at major Rites which mark the children's progress.
  • To attend catechist meetings approximately twice a year.
  • To be familiar with the Sunday scriptures
  • To prepare ahead of time for the sessions.
  • Become familiar with the RCIA.
Qualifications
Ability to relate to teens and to catechize.
Time Commitment
One hour sessions on Tuesday evenings from 7:15-8:30 PM from October through Easter. Preparation for the sessions. Catechist meetings (2). Attendance at major Sunday Rites (2-5 Sundays).

One year
Training
Individual training.

Volunteers 13 and older in this ministry are required to attend a Prohibited Behaviors Orientation class and complete a background screening package.
