Baptism Ministry Team
Contribution to Parish Mission Statement
Preparation of adults and children for the celebrations of the sacrament of baptism begins a child's life-long education and growth in the Christian faith.
Description
Assist with check in at baptismal preparation and with the celebration process as scheduled. Meet 1-3 hours a quarter. Training provided. This ministry is open to all adults.
Responsibilities 
  • Take responsibility for specific tasks of the Baptismal process: welcoming parents, assisting with baptism liturgies, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with clergy and team members to serve families celebrating Baptism.
Qualifications
Hospitable, fond of infants and young children, organized and dependable, able to follow directions and work as a team member. Parent and comfortable with care of infants and young children.
Time Commitment
One to three hours 4-5 times a year
Length of Commitment
Two years
Training
On the job training provided by Baptism Team Coordinator and other team members.
Responsible To
Baptism Team Leader, Pastoral Associate of Family Life and Sacramental Preparation. Additional Requirements:Volunteers 13 & older in this ministry are required to attend a Prohibited Behaviors Orientation Class and complete a Background Screening Package.
