Life long education is essential to growth in the Christian Faith and the mission of St. John Neumann. This ministry provides educational and formation opportunities for 3 - 5 year old children.
Description
Volunteer for this ministry through the PreSchool. For parents and grandparents of preschoolers.
Responsibilities 
  • Assisting the teacher and assistant in engaging in play or an activity as they enter the classroom. This may include the following: * Encourage positive play * Encourage creativity * Maintain a safe environment
  • Assisting the teacher and assistant in caring for the children. This may include the following: * Know the location of the first aid kit * Know the location of tissues for wiping noses - if you assist a child wiping their nose, use a separate tissue for each child and wash your hands with soap and water. * Monitor children who use the bathroom - remind them to flush the toilet and wash their hands. Shut the door three fourths of the way and wait outside for the child.
  • Volunteers on field trips are to: * Wear their nametag supplied by the preschool teacher * Introduce yourself to the children you will be supervising * Pair up with another volunteer on the field trip.
Qualifications
Enjoy working with children ages 3-5.

Completing a Prohibited Behaviors Class is mandatory before a parent or grandparent may volunteer in the classroom.
