Nursery Helper

Liturgical ministers are essential to good community worship. Each minister contributes to the community's nourishment of faith and energizes us to go forth to live our daily lives as committed followers of Jesus Christ.
Description
The nursery is a cooperative arrangement. Parents whose children use the nursery are to volunteer as a parent volunteer one mass every ten to twelve weeks. Responsible teenagers are welcome to volunteer for this ministry. Teens will always be scheduled with 2 adults in the nursery. Adults without small children are also welcome to volunteer.
Responsibilities 
  • Supervise children in the Nursery during a weekend Mass
  • Work under the direction of the Nursery Coordinator or Nursery Staff
  • Encourage healthy and positive play
Qualifications
Must enjoy and be able to work and play with children under the age of five.
Time Commitment
Approximately one hour and 15 minutes once every ten to twelve weeks during regular mass times.
Length of Commitment
Determined by your child(ren)'s use of the nursery. Adults (without children) and teenagers may volunteer in the nursery with a one year commitment. Just let the Nursery Coordinator know when you want to be taken off the schedule.
Training
Where needed, on the job training is provided.

Volunteers 13 and older in this ministry are required to attend a Prohibited Behaviors Orientation class and complete a background screening package.
