| Each person has a responsibility to act compassionately and influence change in the society in which we live. We are united in our Christian community and faith to reach out to those in need and to provide care and support. |
| Description |
| To provide a ministry of Holy Communion and prayer to parishioners during times of illness, hospitalization or being home bound. Includes ministry to residents of local assisted living facilities. Rotating schedules for ministers. |
| Responsibilities | |
- Participate in training and in one annual educational event.
- Participate in meetings that include continuing education.
- Flexibility and availability to make visits as requested. Pastoral CareGivers have responsibilities at ClareBridge (Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion and/or Rosary), Commons on Marice (Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion), home bound and occasional hospital visits.

| Qualifications |
| A prayerful presence and respect for the Eucharist. Ability to maintain healthy boundaries in relationships. Confidentiality a must! |
| Time Commitment |
| About 2-3 hours per month for visits. Education and training sessions as required - |
| Length of Commitment |
| One year. Two years preferred. |
| Training |
| Provided by staff liaison and ongoing continuing education will be given during scheduled meeting times.
Volunteers in this ministry are required to attend a Prohibited Behaviors Orientation class and complete a background screening package. |
