Description
Bread for the World (BFW) is an national, Christian organization that lobbies Congress to enact legislation proven to reduce hunger both in the US and around the world. Help educate the parish about issues related to hunger and sponsor annual offering of letters to congressional representatives.
Responsibilities 
  • Opportunities for involvement include:
    • being part of a planning/leadership group
    • contacting your representatives (usually national) by phone, letter, or email when issues regarding hunger will be addressed
    • staffing a table in order to educate parishioners about a hunger-related issue or to encourage them to participate in BFW's Annual Offering of Letter around a specific campaign
    • helping to write a bulletin flyer to help educate the broader parish
    • planning an activity focused on an issue related to hunger.
Qualifications
An interest in learning more about, or educating others on world hunger and a desire to communicate with your representatives, or an interest in encouraging others to do the same. BFW provides excellent educational materials & training. You will normally be working with others with experience.
