A Community Caring for Life Committee

Each person has a responsibility to act compassionately and influence and promote moral change in the society in which we live. We are united in our Christian community and faith to reach out to those in need and to provide care, support and education.
Description
Individuals meet to discern ways that will significantly impact those families who are dealing with crisis pregnancies and related issues. Offer emotional, practical, spiritual and educational support. Opportunity to assist with bi-annual All Parish Baby Showers, Support and promote Diocesan Respect Life events, including Evening of Remembrance, Mass in Celebration of Adoption, Walk for Life, or Blanket Ministry.
Responsibilities 
  • COORDINATOR: Collaborate with staff liaison to carry out the business of the committee, help prepare the annual budget, and orient and educate new members to the committee. Attend Pastoral Care Commission meetings. Plan the agenda for the bi-monthly meetings. Act as contact person for anyone needing information and to give input to the committee.
  • Team Member: Help plan and execute the bi-annual All Parish Baby Shower, Blankets for Babes or Walk for Life and other Diocesan events throughout the year.
  • Participate in ongoing education opportunities
Qualifications
Coordinator: Ability to share duties and help prepare agenda in collaboration with the staff liaison. Ability to organize. Ability to articulate committee goals and objectives. Team member: Ability to work as part of a team.
Time Commitment
Attendance at regularly scheduled bi-monthly meetings, about 2 hours. Additional time needed for individual activities.
Length of Commitment
One year. Two years preferred
Training
Respect Life Orientation and mentoring provided by the committee and staff liaison.
