Help build a Habitat house in the summer or fall for families with limited resources. Sixteen and 17 year olds welcome but must be accompanied by an adult family member.

Habitat Mission: To eliminate poverty housing in theTwin Cities and to make decent, affordable shelter for all people a matter of conscience.

Habitat Operating Principles:
Sell homes to our buyers for no profit.
Issue zero-percent interest mortgages to homeowners.
Require 300-400 sweat equity hours from home buyers.
Use volunteer labor to bring communities together.

 

Events

Summer 2014 Habitat Build

  • Dates are July 7-11, 2014, 8:30am - 4:00 pm
  • Site Address : Mississippi Dunes, Cottage Grove (building 2 of 3 building project)
  • Multi-unit, new home construction (this is middle of the build so maybe siding, insulation, sheetrocking, etc)
  • 15-18 volunteers/day
  • 16 years and older (one adult supervisor for every four youth)
